This guide provides information about porting applications from the Tru64 UNIX operating system to HP-UX 11i. It also describes the differences between Tru64 UNIX Version 5.1 and HP-UX 11i.
In this guide we assume that the starting environment is Tru64 UNIX Version 5.1 or higher and that the destination is HP-UX 11i or higher. Throughout this guide, whenever HP-UX 11i is referred to without any qualifying version number (B.11.11 or B.11.22) it will apply to both the PA-RISC and Itanium® processor family releases. Operating system releases prior to Tru64 UNIX Version 5.1 and HP-UX 11i will not be specifically discussed in this guide though much of the information provided may still be relevant.
This guide is a work in progress and will continue to evolve as we gain additional experience migrating applications from Tru64 UNIX to the HP-UX 11i environment, and as we receive feedback from customers and ISVs on their porting experiences.
